Team News: Fiorentina ring changes for Empoli clash

Fiorentina make wholesale changes to their starting lineup as they visit Tuscan rivals Empoli in Serie A.

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has made nine changes to his side for this evening's Tuscan derby against Empoli.

Neto and Gonzalo Rodriguez are the only players who keep their places from the team that suffered a 3-0 defeat at Sevilla on Thursday.

First-team regulars Mohamed Salah, Mario Gomez and Joaquin are all rested ahead of the return meeting with the La Liga side next week.

It means that Alberto Gilardino is given the chance to impress up front, while Federico Bernardeschi returns from injury.

Empoli, meanwhile, have named Matias Vecino in their starting lineup to face his parent club.

Empoli: Sepe, Hysaj, Tonelli, Rugani, Laurini, Vecino, Valdifiori, Croce; Saponara, Maccarone, Pucciarelli
Subs: Pugliesi, Bassi, Signorelli, Mchedlidze, Tavano, Assane, Verdi, Barba, Brillante, Zielinski, Somma

Fiorentina: Neto, Richards, Rodriguez, Basanta, Vargas, Badelj, Pizarro, Aquilani, Bernardeschi, Ilicic, Gilardino
Subs: Tatarusanu, Mati Fernandez, Savic, Kurtic, Joaquin, Diamanti, Borja Valero, Pasqual, Alonso, Gomez, Rosi, Salah
