Conference Premier roundup: Halifax Town extend lead

Sports Mole rounds up Bank Holiday Monday's action in the Conference Premier as Halifax Town extend their lead at the top of the table to three points.

Halifax Town have extended their lead at the top of the Conference Premier table to three points after they fought back from an early deficit to beat Lincoln City by a 3-2 scoreline.

After they shared four goals in the opening 50 minutes, Steve Williams scored in the closing stages to extend the Shaymen's winning run to five games.

Barnet have moved into second position after a hat-trick from Lee Cook helped them to a comfortable 4-0 success over Dartford.

Forest Green Rovers drop down to third place after they are held to a 1-1 draw by Bristol Rovers, but Eastleigh made inroads at the top of the table after a 3-1 triumph over Welling United.

Grimsby Town followed up their 6-1 thrashing of Gateshead at the weekend by hitting seven past Alfreton, who are still to record a point this season.

Wrexham have fallen to seventh after drawing 2-2 with Macclesfield Town, who are yet to lose during this campaign, while the match between Kidderminster Harriers and Chester FC finished with the same scoreline after the visitors netted twice in the final nine minutes.

A Jamie Chandler goal just before half time was enough to earn Gateshead a 1-0 win away at Altrincham, but AFC Telford United defied having Godfrey Poku sent off before the break to register a 3-3 draw at home to Southport.

Scott Rendell scored four times as Woking thrashed Dover Athletic 6-1, Torquay United were held 1-1 by Aldershot Town, while Braintree Town condemned Nuneaton Town to their fourth defeat from five matches.

Full details from all 12 matches can be found in Sports Mole's extensive results section.
