Agent rules out Franck Ribery's France return

Franck Ribery will not reverse his decision to retire from France, according to his agent.

The agent of former France winger Franck Ribery has ruled out a return to Les Bleus for his client.

The Bayern Munich ace announced his retirement from international duty after missing last summer's World Cup with a back injury.

His retirement was met with derision by UEFA president Michel Platini, who suggested that the 32-year-old should be banned for refusing to answer a call-up.

"I do not think there's a chance of seeing Ribery in the national team again," Jean-Pierre Bernes told RMC. "He made a choice and he is going to stick with it until the end.

"In France, we were not always very kind to him. In life, one is not obliged to attack a person.

"Franck is very emotional guy and the climate of permanent criticism was not good for him."

Ribery scored 16 times from 81 appearances for France in an eight-year international career.
