Didier Deschamps wants France to be at their best against Japan on Friday in order to prepare in the best possible way for their clash with Spain next week.

France coach Didier Deschamps has insisted that his side are taking their friendly international against Japan on Friday seriously.

Les Bleus will take on European and world champions Spain in their third 2014 World Cup qualifier next week, and Deschamps marks their friendly on Friday as a preparatory match.

"The objective is always the same: to achieve the best possible result before Tuesday's game against Spain," he said.

"A friendly must be taken seriously. I do not want us to discard this match. The best way to prepare for Spain is to do things right on Friday.

"Japan have a lot of quality and experience. Some of my players may be given more playing time than in previous selections. I can also deduce more information about my team."

France have won both their Group I games.
