Augsburg beat Freiburg in thriller

Augsburg and Freiburg share four goals in the Bundesliga on Saturday with the away side taking the points 4-2.

Augsburg have beaten Freiburg 4-2 away from home, taking the points in a game in which they led early only to go behind.

The home side got off to a promising start with Admir Mehmedi getting an early sight of goal after being found by Vladimir Darida, but he could not keep his shot down.

However, straight up the other end the away side went in front. Tobias Werner finished off a passing move after the ball was headed back to him by Andre Hahn.

Augsburg remained the side more likely to make something happen but against the run of play Freiburg were level. It came through Jonathan Schmid, who curled in a free kick on 17 minutes.

Ji Dong-Won could have restored Augsburg's lead before the break, but his shot from range was well kept out by Oliver Baumann.

In a frantic final 20 minutes Mehmedi first put the hosts ahead with a skidding low strike, before Paul Verhaegh finished from inside the box for 2-2.

With both sides going for the win it was Augsburg who went back in front through Altintop, before Hahn wrapped up the three points with a late fourth.
