German striker Mike Hanke has agreed to join Freiburg from Borussia Monchengladbach when his current contract expires.
During the season Hanke delayed the decision to sign a new deal, which led to Gladbach retracting the offer.
Hanke has now been snapped up by fellow Bundesliga side Freiburg, who have qualified for next season's Europa League.
"It's a great package here in Freiburg," Bundesliga.com quotes Hanke as saying. "I had spoken to [head coach] Christian Streich beforehand and got to know the place, and I think I'll fit in well here.
"The opportunity to play in Europe again certainly attracted me, but I also see it as my duty to help the younger players achieve their potential."
Hanke has 12 caps for Germany.
