Brede Hangeland admits that Fulham's European exit is "hard to take".

Brede Hangeland has admitted that Fulham's Europa League exit is "hard to take", following their 2-2 draw with Odense.

The Cottagers – who needed to better Wisla Krakow's result versus FC Twente – crashed out of the competition after conceding two late goals to the Danish side, despite leading for much of the contest.

"It's really hard to take," Hangeland told the club's official website. "We didn't play a good game, but we had by far the better chances and I can't believe we drew.

"To go out like that with the last kick of the ball is very, very frustrating and hard to take.

"I've been thinking about the fact that we started on June 23 and it feels like that was all for nothing at the moment, so it's very, very disappointing."

Fulham welcome bottom-of-the-league Bolton Wanderers to Craven Cottage this weekend.
