Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic: 'Alfie Mawson could play in EFL Cup'

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic says that defender Alfie Mawson could make his debut in the EFL Cup clash with Exeter City.

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has suggested that he intends to give Alfie Mawson his debut in the EFL Cup clash with Exeter City.

Mawson has arrived from Swansea City, but the centre-back is yet to feature for the Cottagers due to undergoing knee surgery during the summer.

However, Jokanovic has said that the plan is to give Mawson "some minutes" against the League Two outfit next week.

At a press conference, the Serbian told reporters: "He started working with us after long period out. He made last two days at training and he will need time to build.

"We have a plan for the next week to use him in some minutes in the Carabao Cup."

Mawson has penned a four-year contract with the West Londoners.
