Darren Bent: 'Fulham must forget Cardiff City defeat'

Darren Bent believes that Fulham must forget about the Cardiff City result in order to take the points against Stoke City.

Fulham's on-loan striker Darren Bent has urged his teammates to forget about last weekend's defeat against Cardiff City in order to put things right on Saturday against Stoke City.

Bent said that the Londoners have shown "glimpses" of what they can do this season but that they must perform to a higher standard on a more consistent basis.

"The defeat against Cardiff was, as you'd expect, very difficult to take," Bent told the club's official website. "When you lose a game so late in the day, it's always tough. It wasn't our best performance, but I thought a draw was probably the fair result.

"Obviously you have to do your best to move on, and that's been the focus this week – we want to put things right against Stoke this weekend. We know that we have more to give, and I think we've seen glimpses of that so far. It's just a case of it coming together for us.

"If we can string a couple of victories together, then we'll soon be pushing ourselves up the table. We all share that belief; it's a good group here at Fulham and we're in it together. That's really important."

Fulham are currently in the bottom three of the Premier League.
