Martin Jol confident of Fulham survival

Martin Jol says that he can keep Fulham in the Premier League despite his side currently sitting in the relegation zone.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has insisted that he can keep the club in the Premier League despite their poor start to the season.

The Londoners are still looking for their first win at Craven Cottage this term after losing 2-1 to Cardiff City on Saturday, thanks to a late Jordon Mutch stunner.

Despite sitting in the bottom three of the table, Jol is confident that he can turn Fulham's fortunes around.

"The devil was playing with us. If you concede goals that late, it's awful," Jol told reporters. "We are very close. It's not easy to win games.

"I can appreciate fans are getting a bit nervous, or other people. If they invest money in the club, they would like to be in the top 10.

"The only risk I can see is that we will still be near the bottom at the end of the season. I never did that (took part in a relegation battle). I feel I can keep them up, but it's not about me."

Fulham host Stoke City on Saturday.
