Team News: Fulham's Andre Schurrle, Jean Michael Seri start against Crystal Palace

Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri are among the starters as Fulham host Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri are among the starters as Fulham host Crystal Palace this afternoon.

The German winger and the club's record signing make their Premier League debuts alongside five other new signings as the Cottagers mark their return to the top flight after a four-year absence.

Calum Chambers, Joe Bryan, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabricio and Aleksandar Mitrovic - now on a permanent contract after his move from Newcastle United - are the other newcomers to be included from the off as Fulham try to extend a run of unbeaten opening-day games at home that stretches back to 1989.

New signings Luciano Vietto, Sergio Rico and Timothy Fosu-Mensah make the bench, but Alfie Mawson is not in contention following a knee operation.

Roy Hodgson, who signed a one-year extension with Palace this week, sticks with tried-and-tested players in his starting XI as the Eagles aim to resume their six-match unbeaten run from the end of the previous campaign.

New signings Cheikhou Kouyate and Vicente Guaita grace the Eagles' bench, but Jordan Ayew and Max Meyer - who is deemed to be lacking match fitness - will not be involved today.

Scott Dann, Connor Wickham and Jonny Williams are also unavailable.
