Fulham manager Martin Jol reveals that he wants to sign a striker before the start of the new season.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has revealed that he wants to sign a new striker before the start of the new season.

The Cottagers continued their build-up to the campaign on Sunday with a 1-0 defeat against Werder Bremen in Germany.

"We will try to get someone up front," Jol told the club's official website. "We need a few more goals.

"Since Clint Dempsey left we do not have enough goals in us, so we are working every day to get someone in.

"We have some high-quality players in consideration and we would like another midfielder as well."

Fulham return to action on August 5 when they host Real Betis at Craven Cottage.
