Al Ain forward Asamoah Gyan has claimed that he turned down an offer to join Galatasaray earlier this summer.
The 27-year-old, who has been the leading scorer in the UAE's top division in consecutive seasons since arriving from Sunderland two years ago, does not regret his decision to stay at Al Ain.
Speaking in Istanbul after representing Ghana in last week's 2-2 draw with Turkey, Gyan told Abu Dhabi newspaper The National: "I had the opportunity to come here, but it didn't go through.
"As a footballer, things happen if you do well, definitely there will be teams attracted to you.
"What I have to say is my opportunity to come here didn't happen and so I have to just continue with my career. I'm happy with what I'm doing now, and I feel stable at Al Ain."
Gyan has scored 53 goals in 40 matches in the UAE.
