Team News: Riccardo Montolivo starts for AC Milan against Genoa

Riccardo Montolivo starts for the first time since breaking his leg in May in AC Milan's Serie A meeting with Genoa.

AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi has handed a start to Riccardo Montolivo for this afternoon's Serie A match against Genoa.

The midfielder has not begun a match since breaking his leg in May and comes into midfield in place of the suspended Michael Essien.

Nigel de Jong is also back after a month out and replaces Marco van Ginkel, in what is the only other change from last weekend's victory against Udinese.

Meanwhile, Genoa have made two changes from the side that claimed a 3-0 win against Cesena, with Sebastian De Maio and Stefano Sturaro both handed starts.

Genoa: Perin; Roncaglia, De Maio, Izzo; Bertolacci, Sturaro, Kucka, Antonelli; Iago, Matri, Perotti

Milan: Lopez; Bonera, Rami, Mexes, Armero; Montolivo, De Jong, Bonaventura; Honda, Menez, El Shaarawy
