Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has revealed that the club are trying to sign Roma striker Juan Iturbe on loan.
The 22-year-old Argentina struggled to make an impact in the Italian capital last season following his €22m transfer from Hellas Verona.
Iturbe is likely to fall further down the pecking order at Roma after the club signed Mohamed Salah and Iago Falque and Genoa are hoping to use the situation to their advantage.
"We are working seriously and trying to convince Iturbe to come to Genoa," Preziosi was quoted as saying by Goal.com.
"We're pushing hard and he is hesitant. There is that moment of reflection that he will take with his agent, then I hope next week everything can be clearer."
Iturbe scored just two goals in 27 Serie A appearances for Roma last term.
