Oliver Bierhoff has claimed that Germany are confident of having Mats Hummels available for Sunday's World Cup final against Germany.
Hummels has been battling a knee injury in recent days, and was removed at the halfway stage of the semi-final thrashing of Brazil as head coach Joachim Low looked to protect his centre-back.
However, team manager Bierhoff believes that the Borussia Dortmund defender should be ready to be named in the starting lineup at the Maracana.
"Everyone's okay except for Mats Hummels and he's getting further treatment," Bierhoff told German TV station ARD. "It's a precautionary measure.
"We assume he'll be able to play in the final."
Hummels partnered Jerome Boateng against Brazil before Per Mertesacker was introduced at the interval.
