Jurgen Klinsmann backs Germany to win 2014 World Cup

Former Germany striker Jurgen Klinsmann believes that his country are the favourites to win next year's World Cup in Brazil.

Former Germany striker Jurgen Klinsmann has insisted that his country are the favourites for next year's World Cup finals in Brazil.

Klinsmann, who is currently in charge of the USA national team, guided Germany to the World Cup semi-finals in 2006.

They were again knocked out in the semi-finals in 2010 in South Africa, but the 48-year-old thinks that they can go all the way this time around.

"Many have been working hard so that again Germany have reached the absolute top [of football]," Klinsmann told The Express.

"[They] are now favourites for the World Cup in Brazil."

This season saw two German sides reach the Champions League final for the first time, but the national team has not won a major tournament since 1996.
