Germany manager Joachim Low has said that his side were "clinical" in their finishing after their World Cup Group G victory over Portugal.
The Germans claimed a 4-0 win thanks to a hat-trick from Thomas Muller and a header from Mats Hummels, while Pepe was sent off for Portugal in the first half.
"It was an excellent first match, we had no option but to win," BBC Sport quotes Low as saying.
"We were clinical in finishing our chances, we had four goals from about six chances.
"The team played well and didn't let Portugal have many chances. We played at high pace in the first half to get our chances."
Germany face Ghana in their second group match on Saturday.
