Thomas Muller: 'Golden Boot doesn't interest me'

Germany striker Thomas Muller insists that he would rather win the World Cup than be the tournament's leading goalscorer.

Thomas Muller has insisted that winning the Golden Boot at the World Cup does not interest him.

The Germany striker was the top scorer at the 2010 tournament in South Africa, and jointly leads the standings with four goals after the group stages in Brazil.

However, he told reporters: "The goal record doesn't interest me at the moment, I have already got one Golden Boot. I want to be a world champion, that's something I haven't won yet.

"[Teammate Miroslav Klose] runs a lot and has played very well. I hope he scores lots of goals for us and takes the Golden Boot home."

Germany will play Algeria in the knockout stages next week.
