Half-Time Report: Nolito puts Celta Vigo in front at break

Nolito fires Celta Vigo into a 1-0 lead at the halfway stage of their La Liga opener against Getafe.

Nolito scored the only goal of the first half as Celta Vigo went into the break of their La Liga clash with Getafe 1-0 in front.

The hosts almost made a perfect start to their season when Alex Lopez picked up the ball on the edge of the penalty area before quickly firing a shot towards the corner, only to see his effort come back off the post.

The rebound bounced out to Fabian Orellana, but Getafe keeper Vicente Guaita recovered in time to keep his header out.

Celta did take the lead in the 20th minute, however, as Joaquin Larrivey's cross into the middle was flicked on to Nolito, who somehow squeezed his effort into the bottom corner from a tight angle.

Larrivey had a chance to get on the scoresheet himself just four minutes later when he received the ball inside the area, but he couldn't find a way past the keeper.
