Juan Esnaider's future as Getafe boss depends on relegation

Getafe president Angel Torres says that Juan Esnaider will be kept on as the club's head coach, providing that he can steer the Madrid side away from the bottom three.

Getafe president Angel Torres has revealed that Juan Esnaider will be kept on as the Spanish club's head coach, providing that he can steer the Madrid side away from the bottom three.

El Geta are one of four teams currently on 35 points in the La Liga table with two games of the season left.

On Sunday, Esnaider's side will welcome Sporting Gijon knowing that three points would go a long way to securing their status in Spain's top flight for another season.

Torres has revealed that Esnaider's future purely depends on whether his team can avoid the drop this season.

"If we stay up, Esnaider continues as coach. It would be well deserved," Torres told AS.

Esnaider replaced Fran Escriba at the Madrid club last month.
