Real Betis punish poor finishing from Getafe to triumph 3-1 in their La Liga contest at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Real Betis have recorded a smash-and-grab victory over mid-table Getafe to launch themselves into fourth place in La Liga.

The home side were the better team in the first half, creating a number of opportunities from which they should have taken the lead.

Pedro Leon and Rafa Lopez squandered the best chances, while Alexis saw his effort from close range blocked.

Getafe continued to threaten after the break, but it was the visitors who made the breakthrough in the second half.

Jorge Molina applied the finishing touch from Ruben Castro's centre with an hour on the clock.

Diego Castro drew Getafe level 10 minutes later, but two goals in two minutes from Benat and Castro gave Betis a two-goal cushion.

Pedro Leon scored deep into injury time to set up a nervy finish, but Salva Seville put the icing on the cake for Pepe Mel's men.
