Getafe take all three points with a 1-0 win over Malaga in La Liga.

Getafe surprised Malaga this afternoon, beating the Andalusian side 1-0 in their La Liga clash.

The first chance fell to the home side after six minutes when Pedro Leon broke free, though his strike went wide of the post.

On 19 minutes, Malaga's Ignacio Camacho smashed a shot towards goal, but his effort was well saved by the goalkeeper.

Pedro Leon had another effort on 28 minutes, but his shot missed the target.

Getafe started the second half well and Alvaro Vazquez came close early on.

Francisco Portillo had a chance for Malaga after 48 minutes, though his strike was off target.

Getafe took the lead after 56 minutes when Pedro Leon set up Alberto Lopo, who headed home to make it 1-0.

Javier Saviola missed a chance to equalise for Malaga, before Roque Santa Cruz's effort went wide of the target.

After 79 minutes, Saviola drove towards goal but his finish was poor as Malaga continued to push for an equaliser.

The full-time whistle blew confirming all three points for Getafe.
