Supporters of Gillingham and Swindon Town have been banned from this evening's League Two meeting at Priestfield.
The decision has been made following a row between Gillingham and the police over costs.
"The safety of all fans attending this football match is our main priority and we are not prepared for their safety to be compromised," said Alasdair Hope from Kent Police.
"The cost of this must be met by Gillingham FC."
Gillingham have so far refused to comment on the matter.
