Sports Mole rounds up a goal-filled day of League Two action.

Gillingham have extended their lead at the top of League Two to five points courtesy of a 2-1 away win over Rotherham this afternoon.

A Deon Burton brace against his old side put Gillingham 2-0 up after an hour and, despite Jason Taylor getting a goal back for the hosts, the league leaders held on to beat the playoff contenders.

Port Vale missed the chance to keep the pressure on Gillingham, falling to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Chesterfield, who move to ninth with the win.

This result allowed Cheltenham to move within one point of second place after they came from 2-0 down to beat Northampton Town 3-2.

Exeter leapfrogged Fleetwood Town into the playoff positions thanks to a 3-2 away win over Rochdale, who began the day level on points with their opponents.

At the bottom, Plymouth Argyle gave themselves some breathing space with a 2-0 win over York, while Wimbledon scored late on to clinch a draw against bottom club Barnet.

Aldershot also scored late to claim what could prove to be a vital point against Oxford United, but Bristol City fell to another defeat, this time at home to Dagenham and Redbridge.

Arguably the game of the day came at Wycombe, who had a man sent off before conceding in the 90th minute to draw 2-2 with Morecambe.

League Two results:

Barnet 1-1 Wimbledon
Bradford 1-0 Torquay
Bristol Rovers 0-1 Dagenham & Redbridge
Fleetwood 0-0 Southend
Northampton 2-3 Cheltenham
Oxford United 1-1 Aldershot
Plymouth 2-0 York
Port Vale 0-2 Chesterfield
Rochdale 2-3 Exeter
Rotherham 1-2 Gillingham
Wycombe 2-2 Morecambe
