Greece caused a surprise in 2004 by winning Euro 2004. Here, Sports Mole assesses their chances of claiming the trophy for a second time this summer.

Along with the Danish squad of 1992, Greece's success in 2004 in Portugal is regarded as one of the biggest shocks in the competition's history.

The bookmakers believe that it will be a similar occurrence if the Greeks were to win the tournament for a second time, with the majority offering odds of 80/1.

The Blues are not expected to score many goals during their stint in the competition, having scored fewer than any other group winner in qualifying with a total of ten.

Group: A

Manager: Fernando Santos - The 57-year-old took over from Otto Rehhagel, who guided the Greeks to their 2004 victory. Santos has experience of winning trophies in Portugal with Porto, as well as guiding PAOK to the Champions League in 2010.

Players to watch:

Kyriakos Papadopoulos: Despite being just 20, Papadopoulos has reportedly been scouted by a number of Europe's top clubs. Currently plays his football for German club Schalke.

Sotiris Ninis: The Panathinaikos winger was given limited playing time under Rehhagel. However, Santos appears to be a fan of his ability and the 22-year-old has been predicted to star for the Greeks.

Giorgos Karagounis: He may be 35, but Karagounis knows what it takes to win a major tournament. Currently has 115 caps to his name.

Previous Best: Winners, 2004.

Sports Mole's prediction for Euro 2012: Group stage.
