Striker Alan Connell has returned to Grimsby Town on a short-term contract after his release from Northampton Town.
Connell enjoyed a stellar year during the 2010-11 season when he netted 25 goals in 46 appearances before he departed the Mariners to join Swindon Town.
However, after mixed spells at the County Ground and with Bradford City, the 31-year-old joined Northampton but he was unable to score in 16 appearances.
His failure at the League Two outfit has seen him reunited with Grimsby, where he was granted an immediate start in their Conference Premier opener against Bristol Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
