Guingamp boost survival hopes

Guingamp boost their hopes of Ligue 1 survival by beating Toulouse 2-0 at the Stade du Roudourou.

Guingamp have boosted their hopes of Ligue 1 survival by beating Toulouse 2-0 at the Stade du Roudourou this evening.

Claudio Beauvue opened the scoring for the hosts in the fifth minute of the match when he met Steeven Langil's cross, before heading the ball into the far corner of the net.

They doubled their lead in the 14th minute through Mustapha Yatabare, who slotted home a penalty after Christophe Mandanne had been fouled by Pavle Ninkov inside the box.

Mandanne came close to further extending their lead after the break, but could only fire his strike over the bar.

Toulouse dominated the second half for long periods, but could not make the breakthrough as the hosts held on to claim a vital three points.

The result leaves Guingamp two points above the relegation zone heading into next weekend's final match of the season at Marseille.
