Report: Real Betis, Malaga in for Rafael van der Vaart

A report claims that Real Betis and Malaga will go head-to-head for the signature of Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart this summer.

Real Betis and Malaga are both reportedly in the running to sign experienced Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart this summer.

The former Real Madrid midfielder will become a free agent later this month when he leaves Hamburger SV after three years.

A host of clubs have been linked with the 32-year-old, but it is understood that Van der Vaart wants to end his career in Spain.

According to AS, both Betis and Malaga are interested in signing the midfielder and will go head-to-head for his signature this summer.

Van der Vaart represented Real Madrid between 2008 and 2010 before moving to Tottenham Hotspur.
