Bundesliga side Hannover have completed the signing of Nancy defender Salif Sane for a fee thought to be around £2m.
Sane becomes Hannover's first signing of the summer and has agreed terms on a contract until the summer of 2017.
"Salif is a young, ambitious player with plenty of potential," FIFA.com quotes director of sport Dirk Dufner as saying. "We are very pleased that we have been able to sign a very strong tackler for our defence, and to have tied him down to us on a long-term deal."
Hannover coach Mirko Slomka said that Sane's proven ability in Ligue 1 should see him hit the ground running in the Bundesliga.
"We had been striving to strengthen our defence for next season and Salif Sane has impressed in one of Europe's strongest leagues," Slomka said.
"He has everything that is required to establish himself as an important member of our team in the Bundesliga."
The 22-year-old has played 70 times in Ligue 1 for Nancy and Bordeaux.
