Half-Time Report: Hartlepool United, Portsmouth level at half time

Hartlepool United go into half-time level with Portsmouth as neither side were able to take their chances.

Hartlepool United have gone into half time level with Portsmouth after a goalless first 45 minutes.

Hartlepool had the first chance of the game as Jack Compton broke through and lined up a shot, only for his effort to be blocked by Danny Hollands.

Pools began to apply pressure with Pompey's Jed Wallace failing to clear his lines, only for Middlesbrough loanee Ryan Brobbel to blaze the chance over the bar.

Pompey hit back as a bit of confusion between Pools defender Matthew Bates and goalkeeper Scott Flinders nearly resulted in a goal, with Bates stabbing the ball just wide of the post.

Patrick Agyemang began to cause problems for the Hartlepool defence but it wasn't enough to create a goal.

Hartlepool looked the stronger towards the end of the half but both sides go into half-time goalless.
