Hartlepool United boss Ronnie Moore has told Brad Walker to make himself undroppable following his match-winning performance on the weekend.
The teenager guided Pools to all three points at Yeovil Town just three minutes after being brought off the bench.
Walker will be rewarded with a starting spot against Bristol Rovers at Victoria Park, which Moore believes will provide him with the chance to permanently oust the suspended Michael Woods.
"It is up to Brad to play well and stop Woodsy from getting back," he is quoted as saying by the Sunderland Echo. "If he plays well, he stays in. Brad's got quality, there is no doubt about it, he's just been lacking match-time.
"We've had a chat, he knows what we're looking for. On Saturday, I said to him before he went on 'go and make a name for yourself' and it was nice to see him on the scoresheet. Woodsy is hardly an aggressive midfielder, is he? But that [booking] has given Brad a chance now."
Hartlepool are up to 11th place in the League Two table thanks to their first win in six outings.
