Hearts ask SPFL to postpone Inverness game over virus outbreak among squad

Hearts announce that a request has been made to the SPFL to postpone tomorrow's match against Inverness due to a virus suffered by members of their squad.

Hearts have announced that a request has been made to the Scottish Professional Football League to postpone tomorrow's match away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle due to a virus outbreak among the squad.

In a statement via the club's official website, it was revealed that members of the team are suffering with gastroenteritis.

It read: "The club has submitted a formal request to the board of the SPFL to postpone tomorrow night's fixture at Inverness due to an outbreak of a very contagious viral gastroenteritis amongst the squad.

"Until we hear otherwise from the SPFL board, fans should assume the game will go ahead."

Hearts are currently third in the Scottish Premiership table, 16 points adrift of leaders Celtic.

The team have lost their last two league games.
