The only unbeaten league record in British football came to an end this afternoon as Hearts slumped to a 3-2 defeat at home to Falkirk in the Scottish Championship.
Genero Zeefuik put the Jambos ahead in the second minute, but the visitors equalised from the penalty spot through John Baird before snatching the lead after the break via Rory Loy.
Hearts substitute James Keatings restored parity in the 73rd minute, only for Craig Sibbald to seal the points for Falkirk 10 minutes from time and move them up to fourth in the table.
Rangers were unable to capitalise on Hearts' defeat as their away match against Cowdenbeath fell victim to the weather, but the Gers can cut the Edinburgh outfit's advantage to 10 points if they win their game in hand.
Third-placed Hibernian clawed back ground on Rangers with a 2-0 win away to Queen of the South, with a penalty from Dylan McGeouch and a Scott Robertson effort sealing victory for them in the second period.
Bottom club Livingston finally have something to celebrate as they netted five away to Dumbarton, with Jordan White and Daniel Mullen both bagging braces and Keaghan Jacobs also on target in their 5-1 win.
Meanwhile, Alloa Athletic and Raith Rovers played out a goalless draw at Recreation Park.
