Scottish Championship roundup: Hearts game called off

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Championship action as Hearts are denied a chance to extend their lead as their trip to Cowdenbeath is called off.

Hearts were denied a chance to extend their advantage at the top of Scottish Championship after their visit to Cowdenbeath was called off after a pitch inspection.

The game has been rescheduled for December 23, and Hearts boss Robbie Neilson admitted that the decision was the correct one.

He told the club's official website: "I'm obviously disappointed that the game won't go ahead, both for the players and the supporters.

"The lads have worked hard all week to get ready for this game, but with parts of the pitch proving dangerous then I believe the right decision has been made to call the game off."

Elsewhere, Steve Agnew struck an 88th-minute penalty for Dumbarton as they edged out Raith Rovers 2-1.

Agnew opened the scoring for the home side on 20 minutes but Mark Stewart's strike just after the hour mark evened things up.

However, with just two minutes remaining, Agnew scored from 12 yards to give Dumbarton the points.

Goals from Daniel Handling and Dominique Malonga gave Hibernian a 2-0 win at home to Alloa Athletic, while Blair Alston's strike was enough for Falkirk as they won 1-0 away to Livingston.

Full results: Dumbarton 2-1 Raith Rovers, Hibernian 2-0 Alloa Athletic, Livingston 0-1 Falkirk
