The 25-year-old has featured twice for the League One outfit this season, but he has not played since August 10.
He has now signed for the Bulls until the end of September, and made his debut for the Conference club on Monday.
West has netted eight times in 70 appearances for Crewe since joining from Ebbsfleet United in 2012.
