Hibs returned from the three-week winter break with a 4-0 victory.

Hibernian assistant manager Garry Parker is hoping Saturday's comfortable Scottish Cup fourth-round victory over Elgin will stand them in good stead for Wednesday's return to Ladbrokes Premiership action.

The Leith side did not show any signs of rust following a three-week winter break after making light work of the League Two part-timers in a dominant 4-0 victory.

Flo Kamberi opened the scoring after 21 minutes before Daryl Horgan and Steven Mallan, from the penalty spot, found the net before the break.

Horgan completed the scoring in the 53rd minute to ensure Neil Lennon's side head into the Fir Park clash at Motherwell full of confidence.

And Parker admits Hibs are desperate to improve on their current position of eighth.

He said: "We had a good winter break and training camp but we've come back to the cup game and it was a good game for everyone to play in.

"We've got a big game on Wednesday coming up against Motherwell and that will be tough, but that was a nice one to get 90 minutes out the way.

"We want to start picking points up because we want to start climbing the table but we also want to have a good cup run."

Parker, meanwhile, is confident goalkeeper Adam Bogdan will be fit for the trip to Motherwell despite being forced off near the end of the Elgin clash following a collision with City striker Chris McLeish.

He said: "It was just precautionary, he took a knock so we just took him off and put Ofir (Marciano) on, that's all that was."
