Honduras and Brazil go into half time all square at 1-1 after an eventful first 45 in their Olympic quarter-final.

Ten-man Honduras have held Brazil to a 1-1 draw in the opening 45 minutes of their Olympic quarter-final this afternoon.

Brazil dominated the early goings of the match, creating a number of chances in the opening minutes, with Leandro Damiao in particular squandering a great opportunity.

However, despite Brazil's dominance, it was Honduras who took the lead. Espinoza made his way down the left wing before his cross eventually fell to Mario Martinez, who volleyed it past Gabriel.

Brazil continued to search for a way through and were handed a lifeline when Wilmar Crisanto picked up two yellow cards in the space of a minute to reduce Honduras to ten men.

The South Americans took full advantage, with Damiao taking advantage of a mix-up in the Honduras defence following Hulk's cross to level the sides.

Marcelo followed this up with a stinging drive from range, but Brazil couldn't find the second goal before the interval.
