A William Buckley double sends Brighton & Hove Albion into the break with a two-goal lead over hosts Huddersfield in this afternoon's Championship clash.

Two goals from William Buckley have sent Brighton & Hove Albion into the break with a two-goal lead over hosts Huddersfield in this afternoon's Championship clash.

Craig Mackail-Smith had an early opportunity to open the scoring for the visitors, his right-footed strike sailing wide of Alex Smithies's goal in the third minute.

Gus Poyet's men broke the deadlock two minutes later through Buckley, who found the back of the net from 18 yards after being played in from the right channel by Bruno.

Brighton continued to pressurise their hosts, and almost went two in front when Ashley Barnes connected with Andrea Stabilin Orlandi's corner, only to head over the bar.

They went on better just before the break and Buckley was the thorn in Huddersfield's side once again, smashing home Mackail-Smith's pass on 40 minutes to send the Seagulls into the break 2-0 to the good.
