Fulham end winless run with Huddersfield Town scalp

Fulham end a three-game run without a win as they beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 at Craven Cottage in the Championship.

Fulham ended a three-game winless run with a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

Goals from Hugo Rodallega, Lasse Vigen Christensen and Ross McCormack were enough for the home side despite an equaliser from Joel Lynch.

Grant Holt had an early chance for the visitors, but his effort was deflected over after three minutes before Mark Hudson's downwards header was cleared off the line by Elsad Zverotic.

Fulham survived two scares in quick succession as the referee waved away appeals for a penalty after Harry Bunn went down under a challenge from Nikolay Bodurov.

Moments later, Bunn went clean through for the visitors, but fired wide of the post on 17 minutes, but they were made to pay for their profligacy when Rodallega opened the scoring shortly after.

The Colombian striker curled an effort into the far corner after good work from the returning McCormack.

Scott Parker played through George Williams on the half-hour mark for Kit Symons's side, but he could only fire a left-footed effort wide into the side-netting.

Bunn had an early chance for Huddersfield after the restart, but he skewed his shot wide before Rodallega combined with Bryan Ruiz before firing a stinging effort straight at Alex Smithies.

The lively Bunn was once again denied by a clearance off the line and this time it was Kostas Stafylidis who kept his team in the lead just after the hour mark.

Gary Holt then somehow hammered the ball over the bar from close range after a good ball from Sean Scannell as the visitors pressed heavily for an equaliser.

Huddersfield's persistence was finally rewarded when Joel Lynch levelled on 75 minutes, but they were culpable of switching off when the Cottagers restored their advantage almost instantly through Christensen.

Symons's side then secured the result late on when McCormack curled in an effort from around 25 yards to take the points at Craven Cottage.
