Sone Aluko has handed Hull City the advantage at half-time against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the KC Stadium.
An early chance fell to Hull's James Foster following some poor marking from the visitors but his header was no threat to Carl Ikeme.
Ahmed Elmohamady threatened the Wolves defence on a number of occasions in the first period and his dangerous cross from the right wing fell to Liam Rosenior midway through the first half, but the full-back's header flew wide of the target.
Hull's pressure throughout the first half was eventually rewarded when Aluko curled in a free kick from 30 yards to give the hosts the lead in spectacular fashion.
Wolves struggled to create any clear opportunities in their search for an equaliser as Hull controlled the match until half-time.
