Hull City could be without Nikica Jelavic and Michael Dawson for as long as six weeks after both sustained injuries on the Premier League trip to Arsenal.
Jelavic did not feature at the Emirates Stadium after pulling up in the warm-up, while Dawson limped off late on as the Gunners rescued a 2-2 draw.
Scans have revealed that the Croatian striker, who has scored four top-flight goals this season, has torn cartilage in his knee and will require surgery which will sideline him for at least a month.
Dawson, a summer signing from Tottenham Hotspur, faces a similar spell out after suffering ankle ligament damage, and so Tigers boss Steve Bruce may turn to son Alex Bruce to fill the void in central defence.
Goalkeeper Steve Harper was also withdrawn against Arsenal and is expected to miss three weeks of action, so third-choice stopper Eldin Jakupovic should start when Hull travel to Liverpool on Saturday.
