Hull City manager Mike Phelan has acknowledged that he wants to maintain the club's "momentum" when they face Newcastle United in the EFL Cup quarter-finals.
The Tigers have recorded four points from their last three matches in the Premier League, while three successive wins have earned them an opportunity to reach the last four of the League Cup on Tuesday night.
The 54-year-old told reporters: "We've progressed in the EFL Cup, and having reached this stage, it's important to maintain the momentum we've gained.
"We will do our job, and prepare the team to play what is a very good Newcastle United side. All the players are looking forward to it though and everyone on the pitch will be giving their all to help us progress."
Hull's tie with the Magpies is their first match at the KCOM Stadium in this year's competition.
