Hull City boss Steve Bruce has slammed his team for their "lethargic" display during Saturday's defeat to Burnley in the Premier League.
The Tigers were beaten 1-0 at Turf Moor to leave them just two points above the relegation zone.
Bruce admits that his players were "second best" throughout the match but has assured fans that they will not see a similar performance again.
"All I can do is apologise to the supporters. We got what we deserved, which was absolutely nothing. It wasn't good enough, nowhere near good enough," he told the club's official website.
"If you don't roll your sleeves up and get ready for a challenge, you are not going to get anything. We gave it away, we were lethargic and we were second best all over the pitch. We were awful.
"The one thing I cannot abide is what we did in the first half. It saddens me that a team of mine played like that and it won't happen again."
Hull have the chance to get back to winning ways next Sunday when they entertain Tottenham Hotspur in the league.
