Hull City have appointed Neil McDonald as their new assistant head coach.
The 50-year-old last worked as manager of Blackpool but has spent the majority of his career as a coach with the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United.
McDonald will now act as Mike Phelan's number two, with the pair linking up in the dugout for the first time during Tuesday night's EFL Cup tie away to Bristol City.
"I'm pleased to welcome Neil to the club and look forward to working with him," Phelan told the club's official website.
"It was important that we added to the backroom staff here and Neil brings a wealth of football experience which will be of huge importance as the season progresses."
Hull have lost each of their last four matches in all competitions, conceding 15 goals in the process.
