Hull City have reportedly moved closer to appointing Nigel Adkins as the club's new manager.
On Sunday night, the Tigers announced that they had parted company with Leonid Slutsky after recording just 19 points from their opening 20 games in the Championship.
Reports soon linked Adkins with the vacant position at the KCOM Stadium and according to Sky Sports News, the 52-year-old is in advanced talks with the club.
Adkins has been out of work since leaving his role with Sheffield United in May 2016, but he has enjoyed success with both Scunthorpe United and Southampton in the past.
Hull are allegedly keen to make a final decision as soon as possible and it has been claimed that an announcement could be made in the next 24 hours.
The club's next fixture comes on Saturday afternoon when Brentford are the visitors to Humberside.
