Report: Chris Coleman wants talks with Hull City over vacancy

Chris Coleman is interested in the Hull City job and will seek permission from the FAW to open talks with Tigers chiefs, a report claims.

Wales boss Chris Coleman is reportedly keen to discuss the vacant managerial position at Hull City, despite the Football Association of Wales rejecting an initial approach.

The Tigers were rebuffed by the governing body on Tuesday and told that the 46-year-old will see out the remaining two years of his contract.

Coleman only signed a fresh deal in May after running down his previous terms, but his stock has significantly risen in the three months since due to the Dragons' run to the semi-final stage of the European Championship finals.

Despite being knocked back, Hull are said to be unwilling to move on in their pursuit of a successor to Steve Bruce and will therefore delay a decision.

Sky Sports News reports that Coleman himself is interested in the KC Stadium job, and is seeking permission to open discussions with City chiefs.

Gianfranco Zola and Roberto Martinez are also in the frame to take over from Bruce, who stepped down last month over financial concerns ahead of the Tigers' Premier League return.
