Hull City are reported to be planning a renewed approach for West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long in January.
The Tigers were left frustrated when the Baggies pulled the plug on a £5m deal on transfer deadline day, but The Mirror claims that Steve Bruce has not given up in his pursuit of the Irish international.
The 52-year-old will reportedly be given £6.5m to land his man, who has scored one goal in eight appearances in the Premier League this season.
Both parties blamed each other for the collapse of the initial move, with West Brom claiming that Hull wanted to restructure the payments - something which has been denied by the Yorkshire outfit.
Instead, they said that it was the Midlands club who chose to back out after deciding to keep the player.
Steve Clarke has repeatedly stated his happiness at Long staying at The Hawthorns.
