Esteban Cambiasso admits that Inter Milan were not good enough during Thursday's Europa League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Esteban Cambiasso has admitted that Inter Milan were well below par during Thursday's Europa League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italians were comfortably beaten 3-0 at White Hart Lane in the first leg of their last-16 encounter.

"Our opponents were better and not only physically," Cambiasso told the club's official website.

"You can't just criticise us for not matching up to them physically, we have to congratulate the winners and aim to turn the tie around, even though it's not going to be easy. We had a few chances, but they were clearly on another level."

Inter welcome Tottenham to the San Siro for the return leg on March 14.
