Serie A giants Inter Milan ran out 2-0 winners away to Romanian side FC Vaslui in the first leg of their Europa League qualifier this evening.
Inter fielded a strong side and one of their most experienced stars got them off to a strong start as Argentine Esteban Cambiasso eventually scored from a Wesley Sneijder corner.
Dutch playmaker Sneijder was again involved as Inter doubled their lead.
His through ball found new signing Rodrigo Palacio, who ran wide with his first touch but recovered well to slot home from a tight angle.
Inter had more chances to kill the tie, with Palacio coming close to a brace after hitting the post.
Andrea Stamaccioni's team now look heavy favourites to progress to the competition's group stages following next week's second leg at the San Siro.
